Fall Meeting

August 31, 2009

Bowling Green High School

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:00.  The minutes were approved as written.

 

Reports:

1.     Band – Robbie Fudge/Corey Bonds

·       All District info TBA after division meeting

2.     Choral – Debbie Belcher

·       All State auditions Oct. 15 at Greenwood

3.     General Music K-5 – John Hall

·       Honors choir will be in the Spring

·       Children’s chorus all state auditions are due Nov. 7

4.     General Music 6-12 – Susie Lucas

·       Middle School Chorus all state auditions are due Nov. 1

5.     Middle Instrumental – Monica Crowder

·       Perry Rollancotter will be the 7/8 all district conductor.

6.     Orchestra – Patrick O’Rourke

·       Orchestra Ky will be in concert September 14-15

7.     College/University – John Cipolla

·       Van Meter is ahead of schedule

·       There are currently 200+ music majors at WKU

8.     Festival Manager – David Graham

·       Instrumental Solo and Ensemble will be March 6 at Warren East Middle School..

·       Concert Band Festival will be April 15-17; possibly in Van Meter

9.     TDMEA President – Kevin Briley

·       Summer Board Meeting Minutes (attached)

10.  KMEA President – Joe Stites

·       Choral Festival Manager – John Hall

·       Van Meter is on target

·       Program Review for Arts and Humanities (attached)

·       Festival Commission will include festival managers and division councils from each district.

·       All State fees have increased $5.00

·       Executive Committee just returned from the National MENC conference outside D.C.
