Reports
1. Band – Troy Stovall
· We had all-district auditions in November. 800 students auditioned, 280 made the band, 120 were recommended for all-state auditions, 28 made the all-state band.
· TDBDA started a scholarship this year to be presented at the conclusion of the All District Band Weekend. The Joe Allen Scholarship went to LaQuisha Green from Todd County Central this year.
· Brant Karrick has been commissioned to write a piece for the 2010 all district band.
· Robbie Fudge is the new band chair.
2. Choral – Mark Walker
· none
3. General Music K-5 – John Hall
· Honors Choir will be April 5
4. General Music 6-12 – Kari Carr
· none
5. Middle Instrumental – Monica Crowder
· none
6. Orchestra – Patrick O’Rourke
· none
7. College/University – John Cipolla
· WKU is currently conducting a search for two positions: Director of Bands and vocal teacher.
· WKU is hosting a clarinet and saxophone camp this year.
· There will be a dulcimer workshop at WKU on April 17th; a two-hour PD will be available.
8. Festival Manager – David Graham
· Instrumental solo and ensemble will be March 7 &8
· Concert Band festival is April 17-19
· An accompaniment is required for the state solo and ensemble festival. This may be live or recorded.
9. TDMEA President – Leslie Lloyd
· KMEA has appointed a relations chair.
· Rob Paugh resigned. The chair-elect will become the new chair and the runner up will be the elect.
